Diane was just 17 when she found a lump on her neck. She was quickly diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and started chemotheraphy and radiation treatment the day after finishing her highers. Facing an uphill struggle at a young age, Diane bravely tackled her treatment head on and successfully fought the disease. The 26 year old will celebrate her ten years all-clear next year.
Diane said: "No one wants to use the NHS, but when you need it, it's there. Hearing the word 'tumour' at such a young age shook me and my family to the core, but the treatment and support we received from that day onwards gave me, and them, the best chance of fighting my cancer. Even now, the NHS is there for me. I will never be able to thank all the nurses, porters, doctors, surgeons, pharmacists and radiographers, who played a part in my journey, enough. Without them, I might not be here today."
