Sheona Fortune

Sheona Fortune’s life was transformed by the generosity of someone who decided to join the NHS Organ Donor Register. After a traumatic five year wait for a much needed kidney transplant, Sheona got the call in 2005 to say a donor had been found and her transplant could go ahead. Sheona’s kidney function is now completely normal and she is living life to the full.

"Sheona said: "I can't put into words what the NHS and the NHS Organ Donor Register has done for me and my family. Prior to my transplant, my illness meant every day was a struggle and I missed out on so much. Organ donation and transplantation really is a miracle, and it has transformed my life. I'm very grateful to have been given this chance."
